Charlotte is an Associate Partner in the Private Client department, with previous experience including work on Road Traffic Accident matters and Personal Injury litigation.
Her caseload includes drafting wills, including provision for trusts where appropriate and dealing with probate matters. Charlotte’s probate experience is wide-ranging, including dealing with a variety of inheritance tax issues and making urgent applications for interim provisions. She has also recently completed an estate administration where she had to work closely with Greater Manchester Police and the Crown Prosecution Service in respect of Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings.
Charlotte helps to look after the finances of people who lack capacity, working with the Court of Protection on Deputyships and drafting Powers of Attorney. Charlotte also has experience in making complex Court of Protection applications for Statutory Wills, urgent applications and seeking the court’s permission for significant decisions outside of usual general management.
Charlotte has a keen interest in matters involving mental capacity issues and is experienced in representing vulnerable adults. Whilst keeping the best interests of her clients at the forefront she gives advice which is clear and sympathetic to each client’s individual needs. Charlotte is approachable and consistently goes above and beyond for her clients.
Charlotte’s role includes dealing with a variety of trust matters including preparing trusts in respect of property ownership and advising on trusts following personal injury claim, drawing on her litigation background. She also provides advice to existing trustees on their duties and responsibilities.
Outside of work, Charlotte is a mum of two. When the rain in Manchester takes a break, she loves nothing more than being out with her husband, little boys and the dog and her favourite place to be is by the sea. In the five minutes a day she now has to spare, she loves to curl up with a good book – of the trashy variety only of course!
What our clients say
“A really big thank you for holding my hand along the way with dealing with mum’s affairs and the subsequent power of attorney – and all that entailed – I really don’t know what I would have done without you. It was a pleasure to have dealt with you.” – Sue (Client)
“I would just like to thank you personally for all of your kindness, care and concern, which ran throughout all of your professional and efficient services. I was obviously emotionally fragile following the loss of my father and your support and patience have been greatly appreciated.” – Susan (Client)
